Edwardsville police seek help locating man in connection to armed robberies

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Police in Edwardsville, Illinois are searching for 45-year-old Richard W. Edwards, who is wanted for questioning in regards to two separate armed robberies during the first week of January.

The first robbery occurred on Jan. 2 around 5:25 p.m. at a Cloverleaf Bank in 300 block of St. Louis Street. Police say a weapon was inferred but not displayed during the robbery.

Two days later, a robbery was reported at Ron’s Shell in the 120 block of East Vandalia Street. According to police, a knife was displayed during the robbery. Authorities say the robbery suspect was driving a gray four-door Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra with Illinois Registration V542976 when he fled from the scene.
