(KMOV) – A registered sex offender faces charges after police say he threw a chicken bone at his live-in girlfriend and kicked her dog so hard it had to be euthanized.
Randy Johnson, 47, was charged Tuesday with felony animal abuse and third-degree domestic assault. He was also charged with failing to register as a sex offender after he allegedly failed to tell authorities he had moved.
Authorities say Johnson and his girlfriend were at their Jefferson County home in the 9700 block of Jones Creek Rd. on Sunday when Johnson threw the chicken bone, striking the woman in the back of the head.
Johnson then allegedly kicked her dog, causing internal injuries so bad it had to be put down.
Johnson pleaded guilty in St. Charles County to rape in 1991. Police say he registered as a sex offender in March, but didn’t notify authorities within the required three days of moving.
