(HockeyStL) -- Earlier this week, the St. Louis Blues appointed Chris Zimmerman as President and CEO of Business Operations.
Zimmerman, 54, was President and CEO of the Vancouver Canucks, as well as an Alternate Governor. Before working with the Canucks, Zimmerman worked at Nike for 11 years and served as Manager of Nike Golf.
Most recently, Zimmerman held the position of President of Easton Sports and a member of the Los Angeles Kings' Business Advisory Group.
Owner Tom Stillman praised Zimmerman's creative marketing strategies and his ability to build fan engagement - something the Blues desperately need as they drew 698,059 fans at home last season which ranks 18th overall and an average of 17,025 fans per game.
Compare that to the Chicago Blackhawks, who have won two Stanley Cups in the last four years, drew 927,545.
Former President of Business Operations, Bruce Affleck, decided to move to a new role in the organization focusing on developing relationships with St. Louis companies.
