(KMOV.com) – Police told News 4 two homes in St. Ann were broken into over the course of one night.
Authorities said security footage caught Larry Lowery, 18, and three juveniles breaking into a home in the 3900 block of Wright early Wednesday morning.
Police told News 4 a man was inside asleep at the time and was awoken when he heard glass break from a basement window before he caught the suspects in the act.
“They took off and he gave chase before realizing they may be armed, so then stopped because he did not have a gun,” said St. Ann Chief of Police Aaron Jiminez.
St. Ann police later caught Lowery and two of the juvenile suspects, but one remains at large. Police believe it was Lowery’s idea to break in.
“This older 18-year-old is telling these 12 and 13-year-olds ‘hey you better do this or else,’ Jiminez said.
Authorities also arrested Kyle Blanke, 24, who is accused breaking into a home in the 3500 block of St. Luke Lane and standing over a sleeping victim with cigarette lighter before the victim woke up and ran off.
