(KMOV.com) – Police and federal agents surrounded a south St. Louis building Wednesday night to serve an arrest warrant.

Authorities said they assisted US Marshalls at the intersection of Pestalozzi and Pennsylvania.

Earnest Lee Proge Jr., 38, was arrested at the building. Authorities said Proge was the last of three drug kingpins out of Detroit that fled before a guilty verdict was rendered in the US District Court in May. The other two drug kingpins were arrested earlier this month in Atlanta and St. Louis.

The US Marshalls in St. Louis were notified by Detroit investigators that Proge was staying with an acquaintance in St. Louis.  Proge was found hiding in the basement of a home near Pestalozzi and Pennsylvania. He initially resisted arrest, and US Marshalls had to use a stun gun to subdue him. Proge is now awaiting extradition.

Residents heard flash bombs go off after authorities arrived on scene. At least one block of Pestolozzi and Pennsylvania was closed for several hours.
