(BaseballStL) -- The Cardinals signed first round draft pick Luke Weaver Monday, who made his first trip to Busch Stadium.

Weaver, a right handed pitcher, is set to report to Jupiter, Florida, Wednesday and said he hasn't been doing much since his college season at Florida State ended.

"I've been sitting on my butt, not doing too much just throwing," Weaver laughed, "This is kind of the start, coming up here. I'm ready to get down there and get situated."

Weaver's season ended May 31st for the Seminoles. He started 16 games for Florida State and threw two complete game and one shutout. Which made for 106.1 innings thrown for the righty, more than any other Seminole.

Weaver admitted to feeling some fatigue, but Cardinals Scouting Director Dan Kantrovitz said they had yet to finalize Weaver's throwing schedule in Jupiter.

"We haven't really mapped it out yet," Kantrovitz said, "but we're definitely going to err on the side of caution."

Weaver says he plans on bulking up and getting stronger, as he stands at 6'2" and 170 lbs. And he'll most likely work out of the bullpen.

"I just more trying to get acclimiated to this system, have fun with it and go from there," Weaver added, "I know what it's like to go out there [bullpen] and be there in that type of roll and I'm comfortable with it."

According to Weaver, his father Mark is a big Cardinals fan and Luke grew up watching the Cards on TV.

"He's always loved the Cardinals," Weaver said, "He's been here before. This is my first time. It's just a weird coincidence [to be drafted by the Cards], but we're just super happy."
