(KMOV.com) – Police said a man is facing charges after firing shots at a man who was in a hot tub at his home.
Robert Moreland, 33, of Villa Ridge has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
Police said Moreland came home early Sunday morning and became upset when he found the victim, who was visiting a female friend of Moreland’s, in a hot tub. Authorities told police Moreland and the victim got into an argument and Moreland asked the victim to leave, but the victim elected to stay.
According to authorities, the victim and female friend heard gun shots coming from a bedroom. The woman told police she then saw Moreland pointing a rifle at the victim before she knocked the gun up into air as the victim fled.
Police said the suspect then fired two shots, but they did not hit anyone. Authorities told News 4 they contacted Moreland who claims he shot out a window to scare away the victim. Moreland told News 4 he was defending his property after being shoved in his home. He was then arrested.
