(KMOV) -- Everyone loves a mouthwatering dessert, but some desserts made in Maryland Heights come with special meaning.
Tucked away in the back of an office for The Center for Head Injuries, past the cubicles and the copiers is a bakery called Destination Desserts.
Destination Desserts is not just making cupcakes, they are making a difference.
“What we do is we teach and train people that have had traumatic brain injuries, autism or other disabilities how to read a recipe, how to measure, how to bake, and they’re making all of our products,” said Denise Samuels, the program director of the bakery.
Destination Desserts also has their own dessert truck and all of the money the bakery makes goes back to fund the center.
