(KMOV) – The Consumer Product Safety Commission says about 142,000 Hoover Wind Tunnel Bagless canister vacuums are being recalled due to fire and shock hazards.
The CPSC says the power cord between the power nozzle and the wand connector can short-circuit. This can occur even if the vacuum has been turned off, but left plugged in.
One minor injury has been reported, but Hoover has received 69 reports of overheating or electrical malfunctions, including reports of fire and smoke damage.
The vacuum was sold nationwide from March 2003 to December 2008 and involves model S3755.
