Granite City youth group leader sentenced to 32 years in prison for child porn

(KMOV)-- A youth leader from Granite City faces 32 years in prison for producing and possession of child pornography.

Joseph Klug, 30, told FBI agents he struggled with an addiction to child porn for five or six years during a search of his home in November of 2009.

Investigators found around 100 gigabytes of images of boys between 8 and 13 engaging in sexually explicit conduct on computers in the man’s home.

Police say Klug would also share the content over the internet.

He reportedly filmed young boys, as well, using the toilet and showering through hidden cameras.

Over 59,000 images and 12,000 videos were found during a search.

Klug was the leader of the Royal Rangers youth group at the First Assembly of God Church.

He will serve a lifetime term of supervised release after prison, and pay a $2,000 fine, $200 special assessment, and $4,000 in restitution.
