ELDON, Mo. (AP) -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a man and his missing five children have been located in Pettis County, and the children are safe.

A highway patrolman pulled over Mike Minor Friday evening on Highway 50 just outside of Sedalia because his vehicle matched a description that had been part of an Amber Alert issued earlier in the day. Minor's five children were in the car and are to be reunited with their mother.

The children, ages 2 to 10, were reported missing early Friday after they disappeared from their home in Eldon in Miller County. Minor did not have custody of the children.

Patrol Sgt. Collin Stosberg says Minor is in the Pettis County jail. He says the motive for the incident wasn't clear.
