JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri transportation officials have reopened Interstate 44 after it was closed near Joplin because of a deadly crash in Oklahoma.
The Missouri Department of Transportation said Thursday afternoon that the highway had been reopened.
Missouri closed the westbound lanes of I-44 Tuesday morning after traffic backed up following the accident in northeastern Oklahoma. Authorities say a vehicle veered off the Interstate 44 bridge and into any icy river.
