(KMOV) -- Authorities in Madison County, Illinois are investigating a series of reported identity thefts.

Two men believed to be connected to these identity thefts were recently caught on surveillance video at a restaurant in Bridgeton, Missouri.

Authorities say the men in the footage used a credit card connected to a victim in Madison County.

A bartender at the restaurant tells investigators that the men mentioned that they attended Missouri State College in Springfield, Missouri.

One of the men was also seen on surveillance video at a Kmart store in Springfield, Missouri using a credit card from another Madison County victim.

In the Kmart surveillance video, the man is seen getting out of a red four-door vehicle.

The surveillance footage has been given to the FBI in Springfield, Illinois for further investigation.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office began receiving these reports starting in November of 2010.

The victims in many of these cases have reported that charges have appeared on their credit cards from New York, New Jersey, Virginia, California, Texas and Georgia.
