(KMOV) – National Guard troops are on duty in Troy, Missouri where blowing snow is one of the biggest problems in that area on Wednesday. High overnight winds created snow drifts between six and eight feet deep and buried smaller roads. The Lincoln County highway Department credits everyone with staying home during the storm, which allowed crews to do a better job clearing the streets. However, they’re not done yet. With temperatures plummeting into the overnight hours, the focus shifts to making sure the drifting snow doesn’t stick and ice over Wednesday night.
