JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A central Missouri lawmaker has been seriously injured in a traffic accident.
The office of freshman state Rep. Wanda Brown says the lawmaker suffered neck and back injuries in an accident Monday on Missouri Highway 52. Her office said Brown was being taken to the University of Missouri hospital in Columbia.
The 44-year-old Republican represents the 116th District, which includes Benton County and parts of Morgan and Pettis counties.
Details of the accident, including where and how it occurred, were not immediately available.
