(KMOV)-- Defense attorneys for Chris Coleman want to throw out a tape of Coleman’s initial interview with police.
His attorneys said in court Friday that Coleman was not properly read his Miranda Rights when taken in for questioning the day of the murder.
They say Coleman was also recorded during the questioning without his knowledge. Coleman’s defense says he asked to leave several times during the interview, but was told no, which violates his right to remain silent.
The judge must now decide whether the seven-hour long interview with detectives will be admissible.
The judge will review the tape and make a ruling later.
