(KMOV) – Charges were filed Friday against three men in their 20s accused of leading police on a high speed chase that started in north St. Louis around 9:30 Thursday night.

St. Louis City Police say officers were looking for a white Lincoln that was allegedly being used for smashing in windows of cars and stealing items inside.  Police spotted the Lincoln and it took off.  Police then chased the car westbound on I-70.

City police officers eventually relented on the chase, but other departments picked it up as it wound its way on I-70. At some point during the chase, the suspects turned around and headed back east.

The white Lincoln sedan that the suspects were in crashed into another vehicle on I-70 at Lucas and Hunt.

Authorities say a police helicopter with an infrared camera was called in.  The chopper and a K9 unit from the county, worked together to track down one of the suspects who left the scene on foot.  He was taken into custody in Northwoods, a couple blocks away from the crash scene.

The driver of the stolen Lincoln is 29-year-old Freddie Mack. He was charged with resisting arrest. Martez Jenkins, 24, was charegd with drug possession with intent to distribute. The third suspect, 22-year-old Anthony Edwards was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Antoinette Moore, 39, was injured after the suspect's vehicle hit her car. As of Friday morning, she was listed in serious condition.
