(KMOV)-- One person is in custody after a police chase led to a gas leak in North St. Louis County early Thursday morning.

According to the Ferguson Police Department, they were trying to pull over a vehicle that was speeding, but the driver would not stop. The driver eventually went off the road at West Florissant and Lucas and Hunt and ran into a natural gas regulator station.

Laclede Gas crews were called to the scene to make repairs.

The entire intersection was closed, but the roadways have opened once again. Metro had to re-route 3 bus lines around the scene.

A Laclede Gas spokesperson told News 4 that they did not have to shut off gas to any homes or businesses. Crews will remain on the scene while they fix the equipment.
