BRANSON, Mo. (KMOV) - Ninety-two animals were rescued from a woman's home in Branson who said she was operating her own private rescue shelter.
Upon entering the household, rescuers said there was an overwhelming smell of urine and animals not free roaming were locked in cages throughout the home.
Animal Cruelty Investigators saved 40 dogs and 52 other animals including doves, parrots, cockatiels, love birds, hamsters, cats, chinchillas, ferrets, rats, and rabbits from the property.
The owner agreed to voluntarily surrender the animals and they were taken to the Humane Society of Missouri for treatment and shelter.
