(KMOV) – The FBI and several local police agencies are hoping they have made a dent in local heroin trafficking after several suspects were arrested after raids on both sides of the river.
Two people arrested by the FBI are from the St. Charles County area. Donald white, 29 and Bridgett Corbett, 28, are facing federal charges.
While ten members of this drug trafficking organization are in custody, there are still two fugitives at large. Orbia Carthen, 52, and Kevin Mulvill, 29, are still wanted by authorities.
The FBI says this organization had a hierarchy that included leaders, drug runners and those who distributed the heroin throughout multiple counties, including St. Charles.
With the help of the St. Charles County Sheriff’s office, along with many other police departments, they’re confident this takedown will have a huge impact on the area’s heroin problem.
The FBI says this was the result of a two-and-a-half year investigation that started with a tip back in April 2009.
