ST. LOUIS (KMOV)— Police are looking for a man they say is responsible for robbing at least three different women, including one who was shot in the face during a robbery in south St. Louis early Wednesday.
Police said the victim was walking to her car in the 1600 block of South Spring near Lafayette around 6 a.m. when the man approached her and grabbed her purse. According to police, the suspect then shot her in the face and fled on foot.
She was immediately taken to a St. Louis area hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Police say they believe the suspect is behind two other recent robberies in south St. Louis.
One of them happened on Grand on October 14. The other happened two days later on Russell.
In all three cases, the victim was shot even after he or she gave up what the suspect asked for.
Police said evidence from the gun and shell casings led them to determine they’re all connected.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s. He’s approximately 6-feet tall with dreadlocks.
Police said they have additional officers in south St. Louis in hopes of catching the man.
