ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Three suspects were in custody and another on the loose after they fled from police in north St. Louis on Wednesday.

Authorities said four suspects broke into a home on Bischoff on The Hill.

According to police, the homeowner scared the men away. She gave police a license plate number and description of the vehicle.

Police said they spotted the vehicle on Interstate 70 and followed the suspects to the 5900 of Lillian near Mimika. That’s when the suspects got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police said one of the suspects pointed a gun at police. One of the officers then fired at the suspect in self defense, causing the suspect to drop his weapon.

Three of the four suspects were taken into custody. The fourth suspect remains at large.

No injuries were reported.

Police said they recovered several weapons at the scene
