ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – Police arrested a former employee who tried to rob a gas station in south St. Louis on October 13.

Joseph Tolcou, 22, was charged with first-degree robbery for the incident at the Mobil gas station in the 8500 block of Morgan Ford Rd.

According to police, Tolcou walked into the gas station around 7:55 and approached the cash register.

Police said Tolcou implied he had a gun, but eventually walked out of the store without any money.

Authorities said they arrested Tolcou after he was identified on surveillance video.

His bail for the incident was set at $25,000.

Tolcou was also charged Friday with second-degree burglary after he allegedly broke into a home in the 700 block of Cumberland Drive in the Lemay area between October 6 and October 8, 2011. Police said he stole a laptop computer worth about $1,800.

His bail was set at $20,000 for that charge.
