(KMOV) – A man has been charged for allegedly trying to run over officers in north St. Louis County.

Christopher Pool, 37, of the 9700 block of Winkler, was charged with two counts of Assault on Law Enforcement Officer in the Second Degree and one count of Resisting Arrest.

Authorities said around 1:15 a.m. Friday officers pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 9600 block of Winkler.

The vehicle was driven by Christopher Pool. As the police officers approached the car, Pool allegedly drove at them.

Both officers fired their weapons at the driver.

Pool was shot but continued to drive on the street and struck a parked car.

Pool allegedly exited the car and ran a short distance before the officers apprehended him.

Pool was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.

Bond was set at $50,000.
