ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOV) -- The St. Peters Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two subjects using stolen credit cards in the area.

Authorities say the victim had her credit cards stolen from her purse while dining at a local restaurant and was unaware of the theft until she tried to pay for her meal and discovered two credit cards and one debit card missing.

Authorities believe the cards were stolen by other patrons at the restaurant who saw the victim’s purse hanging on the back of her chair.

The suspects left the restaurant and immediately started making fraudulent charges, totaling in excess of $3,000.

The suspects are described as a bald black man in his late 20s with both ears pierced and a large built black female in her late 20’s with shoulder length hair, possibly wearing a wig.

The subjects were seen leaving the area in a black Chevy Impala.

Police say that to reduce your chances of becoming a credit card theft victim, only carry the cards you need and hide them in a secure place while you’re out.

Anyone with information about these subjects is asked to contact Detective Paul Barish at 636-278-2244 ext. 3531 or 636-278-2222.
