(KMOV.com) -- Some tense moments Tuesday evening as a powerful storm made a direct hit on downtown St. Louis and Busch Stadium, where thousands of fans had gathered to watch the Cardinals play the Washington Nationals.
Fans were herded into safe areas when a Tornado Warning was issued for the area.
There were no reports of injuries.
The first year the new Busch Stadium was open, a storm hit downtown and it was chaotic inside the stadium.
The Cardinals learned from that experience, made some changes and became the first stadium in the league to be storm ready.
