ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (AP) -- A judge has denied bond for a 19-year-old Arlington Heights man jailed on charges that accuse him of killing his father during a robbery.
Fifty-five-year-old George Nellessen was found dead in his home Thursday. Authorities say he was duct-taped to a chair and gagged and had a bag over his head.
Prosecutors have charged Matthew Nellessen and three Chicagoans in the older man's death. Cook County Circuit Judge Kay Hanlon set bonds for the other three ranging from $1.5 million to $3 million.
Prosecutors contend the men forced George Nellessen to sign a $100,000 check and took $800 from his wallet.
All four defendants are charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
