St. Charles, MO (KMOV) -- Police are still searching for the man who they say was stabbed while attempting to rob a St. Charles, Missouri business.

Police said the man attempted to rob the First Capitol Cleaners on First Capitol Drive Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators said the woman working behind the counter grabbed a seam ripper, stabbed the man in the hand and then chased him out the door and down the street.

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and gloves. He was wearing a black ski mask with large sunglasses and may have sustained an injury to his left hand.

No money was stolen.

The shopkeeper told News 4's St. Charles Bureau reporter Brian Feldman that Wednesday just happened to be her birthday.
