(KMOV) – Some St. Louis-area taxpayers say “Money Co. USA” promised them their tax refunds by now, but so far they have yet to see their cash. This company used to be “MO Money Taxes.”
In the St. Louis area, three viewers called News 4 today with nearly identical complaints against the tax preparer. The viewers have only been met with excuse after excuse as to why they haven’t been paid despite being promised refunds.
“I was supposed to receive my tax refund on the thirtieth of last month,” Albert Branch said. “I called the IRS and they said they deposited my tax return into their back on Friday.”
Money Co. USA is supposed to cut check minus their fees to customers, but Branch was first told there was a printer problem and then his check won’t be ready until Friday.
The company’s owner, Markey Grandberry, told KMOV’s sister station in Memphis that there is a software glitch. He also says that the refunds will come, but no tax preparer can guarantee when.
