License bureau worker charged for creating fake IDs

(KMOV) – A worker at a Missouri driver’s license bureau is charged after giving fake IDs and licenses to illegal immigrants.

It was part of a major bust by federal investigators who also uncovered that the individuals were stealing social security numbers in the area.
In 2007, Yvette Roberson got hired at a driver’s license bureau and started to conspire with three men to conduct the fraud in 2010.  The others would provide fake and stolen birth certificates to illegal immigrants who would then go to the office where Roberson worked.

The crime went on for at least 18-months before agents shut it down, according to court documents.

There is no word on how many licenses were issued.  Ricardo Ortiz and Jorge Perez, Elizabeth Cervantes are also facing charges.  Roberson and the men could face up to 15 years in prison.
