(KMOV.com) -- An Oklahoma man was sentenced to 293 months in prison for two counts of kidnapping and 240 months for interference with commerce by robbery on Monday after an incident involving two O'Fallon, Illinois women.
According to police, Carey L. Breshers, 52, held two female employees of the World Finance at gunpoint in O'Fallon, Illinois on October 26, 2010. He questioned them about their checking accounts, finances and vehicles. Breshers then forced one woman to write a company check for $3,000. He forced the women to leave the bank and directed one of them to get in her car and drive.
Breshers had the women attempt to cash the check at the O'Fallon branch of Regions Bank. The attempts to cash the check were unsuccessful and Breshers had the women go back to World Finance. When he got there he took $1,104. Next, he had the women drive him to St. Louis and during the drive he pulled out a weapon.
Breshers made the women take the Jefferson exit off Interstate 44 and pull behind an abandoned building where he released them. He left in the victim's car, which was later found at a Metro Link station in Missouri.
Breshers was later arrested on October 31, 2010 in Topeka, Kansas.
