Collinsville, Illinois (KMOV.com) – An argument between family members has landed a Collinsville man in jail.

Madison County deputies say Mason Sykes, 21 of the 2700 block of Black Lane in Collinsville was arrested on Saturday evening after allegedly throwing a car’s exhaust system at a car, breaking the front windshield and damaging the hood.

Investigators say the incident was sparked as a result of an argument between Sykes and a family member sitting in the passenger seat of the damaged vehicle.

Deputies caught up with Sykes near the intersection of College and Fairmont Avenue. He was taken to jail and charged with Criminal Damage to Property Over $300.

Bond for Sykes was set at $10,000.
