(KMOV) – Police say 72-year-old Allen Merry is charged with 18 crimes involving the rape and exploitation of a 15-year-old girl. Merry taught at the Central Visual and Performing Arts Academy in South St. Louis. The victim says Merry had sex with her several times in the music classroom.

Police say the abuse happened over the course of three years.

According to court documents, Merry taught music at Bunche International Studies- a middle school that temporally shared a building with Central Performing Arts Academy in 2006.

Police say even after Bunche moved back into its own building, Merry continued to rape the teen.

Police also say Merry photographed the student nude and made her watch pornographic movies before he had sex with her in his north St. Louis home.

Merry retired in 2011, but until his arrest presently, he was an after-school provider at Kennard Classical Junior Academy.

The school district sent letters to parents and banned Merry from their schools.

Child Advocates believe there could be more victims since Merry taught in the district since 1985.
