Suspect charged in deadly overland drive-by shooting

Overland, Missouri ( – The Major Case Squad says it has a suspect in custody in connection with a deadly shooting in Overland, Missouri.

Trice Edwards, 28, has been charged with Murder First Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Assault First Degree for the murder of Christopher Nelson.

Police got the call to a double shooting in the 9000 block of Baltimore Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. On the night of the attack police told News 4 that they believed one man in a white or gray Tahoe fired shots into a group of people before speeding away.

Nelson was shot twice and later died. A woman who was with Nelson at the time was shot in the face, but was conscious and talking when paramedics arrived.

Investigators are not releasing a motive for the shooting. Edwards is being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
