(KMOV) – A Lambert Airport restaurant employee faces charges after he allegedly stole a mobile phone from a traveler passing through the airport in July.
Thomas Fenderson, 21, was charged Aug. 15 with stealing over $500.
According to police, the victim reported to officers that her mobile phone had been taken from her bag as she passed through the airport’s security checkpoint on July 7.
Police looked at surveillance video and saw Fenderson, an employee of a nearby restaurant, took the phone from the victim’s bag.
Fenderson was questioned by police but denied taking the phone.
It was later recovered in a sink inside the restaurant near Fenderson’s work area. According to police, it was valued at around $550.
Fenderson was arrested and taken into custody on a $5,000 bond.
