(KMOV.com) -- A man is dead after being pulled from the Mississippi River in a boating accident in St. Charles County Sunday night.
Officers with the Missouri Highway Patrol said 60-year-old Mike Dallwitz was with a group on a boat when they drove into a sandbar. That’s when officials said Dallwitz jumped into the river and experienced immediate problems.
Missouri Highway Patrol said others tried to pull the victim out of the water, but he later died from his injuries.
The incident was reported along the Mississippi River near Portage Des Sioux around 4 p.m. Sunday.
No other information was released concerning the victim or the accident.
