(FootballSTL) -- Sure, it’s just the preseason and the Rams are holding back much of their offense, but couldn’t they give us a little something to get excited about?

They didn’t score against the Packers until the 1:04 mark of the 4th quarter, when Green Bay was loading up the gear and heading back to Wisconsin. In the search for positives, there was Sam Bradford hooking up with Chris Givens for a 57 yard gain.

Tavon Austin caught four passes.

Bradford found new tight end Jared Cook for a 37 yard gain. Beyond that, there wasn’t much.

The Rams committed 9 penalties for 52 yards, and turned the ball over three times. Two interceptions and a lost fumble.

After the first team offensive line departed backup quarterbacks Kellen Clemens and Austin Davis were left to run for their lives. Rams QB’s were sacked three times and narrowly escaped on many other occasions.

Here are few key stats:

Sam Bradford               8/12 155 yards  0 touchdowns

Isaiah Pead                  11 carries, 20 yards

Benny Cunningham       6 carries, 19 yards

Tavon Austin                4 catches, 27 yards

Two more preseason games left to play. Next Saturday night they’ll be in Denver, and they’ll wrap it up a week from Thursday night at home against Baltimore.
