WELDON SPRING, Mo. -- A St. Charles man is facing charges of making a terrorist threat for an incident that spurred a lockdown in the Francis Howell School District.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 42-year-old Gary Richard Schneider was charged Thursday and is jailed on $25,000 bond.
Police say Schneider and his ex-wife had an argument over the phone related to child custody and he allegedly showed up at Francis Howell High School in 1400 block of Highway D, where she works. Authorities say he made threats, then left in a white Chevy Trailblazer.
Eight buildings - including four schools - in the Frances Howell School District and Messiah Lutheran were placed on lockdown until Schneider was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Chesterfield.
