(KMOV) – Several fire departments were battling a mulch fire that burned for several hours in Bridgeton early Friday morning.

According to officials, the fire broke out at Benco Landscape Construct in the 13600 block of Missouri Bottom Rd. around 12 a.m.

Multiple fire departments - including Hazelwood, Orchard Point and Pattonville – responded to the scene to help the Robertson Fire District.

Authorities said the fire was still burning as of 7 a.m., though officials had gotten it under control.

Officials could not say how the fire started.
