(BaseballStL) -- In the latest measure of the I-55 shuffle, the Cardinals announced Thursday that second baseman Kolten Wong would join the club for the series in Chicago.
Wong has played the entirety of 2013 in AAA Memphis, hitting .303 with 10 homers and 45 RBIs in 107 games.
Wong's OPS is .835, and he's collected192 total bases in his 412 at bats.
To make room for Wong, Adron Chambers has been optioned back to Memphis- a response to outfielder Shane Robinson being activated Thursday.
Wong will be the 11th player to make his debut for the Cardinals this season.
Playing exclusively second base, Wong will likely not be used in a utility role. In the 2013 Futures Game, Wong went 1-for-2 with a stolen base. In the field, he turned three double plays.
Friday's series opener starts at 3:05 p.m..
