(KMOV) – Two Marine residents were charged with burglary on Wednesday following an investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua T. Kamp, 27, and Nicole M. Voigt, 29, were charged with felony charges of burglary and residential burglary in a Madison County Circuit Court after allegedly stealing from Voigt’s family.
On Thursday, August 8, 2013, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to 2322 Marine Road in reference to a garage burglary.
The victim reported an unknown suspect entered a detached garage located on his property and stole a car wheel and $475 worth of aluminum.
On Monday, August 12, 2013, at approximately 9:21 a.m., officers responded to 4602 Weber Road in Alhambra, Illinois, in reference to a residential burglary.
The victim reported an unknown suspect entered the home and proceeded to steal cash and jewelry worth $1000.
According to authorities, Voigt was identified as a family member of both victims and a possible suspect in both incidents. Furthermore, Kamp was identified by family members as Voigt’s boyfriend.
Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office developed evidence linking both Voigt and Kamp to the incidents. Kamp and Voigt were located by investigators at their home during the evening hours of Monday, August 12.
Both Kamp and Voigt were transported to the Madison County Jail where they were held pending a formal review by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Bond was set at $70,000 for Voigt and $80,000 for Kamp.
