Man runs to neighbor's home after being randomly shot in St. Louis

 (KMOV) – Police are searching for a suspect they say walked up to a man and randomly shot him in north St. Louis late Tuesday night.

Authorities said a 39-year-old man was walking in an alley near the 4300 block of St. Ferdinand around 11 p.m. when the suspect came up from behind and shot him in the neck, jaw and back.

The victim ran to a neighboring apartment to get help. He was then transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities did not release any details on the suspect.

The cause of the shooting was unknown.
