(KMOV.com) -- When a local small business owner was out thousands of dollars with nothing but a broken sign to show for it, he called News 4's Mike Colombo for help.
Less than a week later, we’re happy to report Mike was able to get a resolution.
When News 4 stopped by Midwest Cleaning Connection on St. Charles Rock Road last week, owner Jeff Winder had a few problems on his hands.
"Not one person has come in and said 'hey we were driving by your store the other day and saw your sign,'" he said.
That’s because the signs he’d recently purchased from a company called Signtronix quit working about six weeks after he bought them. When a replacement arrived, it wasn't much help.
"We brought it in, opened it up, and sure enough, every bulb in it was broke because they didn’t pack it right," Winder said. "I got right on the phone, called the company; told them I wanted to speak with the president of the company because I was tired of dealing with this sign. I have yet to hear back from him."
News 4 contacted the Thomas Johnson, president of Signtronix, who vowed to make things right.
"Naturally we’re going to take care of it," he said.
It appears Johnson is a man of his word. Following that conversation, Winder was let out of his lease with Signtronix, and the company collected the damaged sign.
