ST. LOUIS -- The slump continues for casinos in the St. Louis area.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that revenue at all six of the region’s casinos dropped in July compared to July 2012. Overall, revenue was down 10.6 percent.
The biggest decline was at Lumiere Place in downtown St. Louis, where revenue dropped nearly 18 percent.
The reason for the decline wasn’t clear because this July had the same number of weekend days as July 2012. Weekends tend to be busier for casinos.
Gambling revenue has fallen at the metropolitan St. Louis casinos every month this year.
