(BaseballSTL) -- Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran left the game against the Cubs today in the 6th inning after fouling off a ball on his right foot.  He went for X-rays, which came back negative, and is officially listed as day-to-day with a right foot contusion.

However, with the first place Pirates about to come in town on Tuesday, Beltran says he hopes to be on the field.

“It’s sore.  Hopefully with Monday off then Tuesday I can be back,” Beltran said.  “The way I feel right now I can walk.  I don’t know about running.  Maybe with tomorrow off, some treatment and ice, we’ll see how I feel on Tuesday.”
