(KMOV) – Sen. Claire McCaskill made a stop in St. Louis on Saturday to help 18 local families repair their homes.
More than 470 volunteers teamed up with McCaskill and St. Louis City Aldermen Antonio Ward and Sam Moore for Rebuilding St. Louis Together, a nonprofit organization that helps rehabilitate homes and revitalize communities at no cost.
The organization made repairs to 12 homes on the 4200-4500 blocks of Redbud Avenue on Saturday and plans to restore six houses on Northland Avenue during the effort.
Rebuilding St. Louis specializes in helping the elderly, disabled, military veterans and families in need.
All funding for repairs comes from the Home Depot Foundation, Boeing, and the St. Louis Aldermen of the 21st and 4th Wards.
