ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Busch Stadium could set an attendance record this weekend, but the crowd won't be there for a St. Louis Cardinals game.
The baseball team often sells out the St. Louis ballpark, but a stadium-record 52,000 people are expected for the U2 concert scheduled for Sunday night. That will include fans with seats on the field.
In fact, the turf at the stadium has been dug up. It will be replanted after the concert and should have plenty of time to settle before the Cardinals return home.
The Cardinals begin the second half of their season Friday with a nine-game road trip to Cincinnati, New York and Pittsburgh. They return to Busch for a game against Houston on July 25.
