(KMOV) – A neighborhood in the Metro-East has been plagued with huge sinkholes that keep getting bigger. Neighbors say nothing is being done to fix the problem.
The sinkholes are found on Vogel Place in East St. Louis, and they make driving difficult for any motorist who comes though.
Mayor Alvin Parks asked Public Works Director Jess Walker about the problem, and he asked the city council for $280,000 for a project that will correct the craters on Vogel and two other streets.
The council approved the money, and now the job has to go to bid, be approved and be completed.
