Clock ticking for St. Louis County residents to appeal property assessments

(KMOV) – The clock is ticking for residents in St. Louis County to appeal their property assessment.

Monday will be the last day to file any dispute, as Missouri law states that the second Monday in July is the deadline.

If you’re looking to appeal your property assessment, it is recommended that you gather enough evidence, such as photos, contracts and appraisals, to support your claim. Seeking a property owner advocate is also suggested.

St. Louis County executives say thousands of residents dispute assessments each year, and that half of them receive a reduction.
