(KMOV) – A man and a woman have been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis after their vehicle was pulled over on July 5.

Manuleto Jones, 43, and Chantel Vaughn, 40, were pulled over after they had just left the interstate in Collinsville as police were placing drug interdiction signs on the interstate.  Police pulled the vehicle over citing probable cause.

Police found 219 grams of cannabis in their vehicle.  Vaughn and Jones are being held in the Madison County Jail pending formal charges.

Another vehicle was also identified to be travelling with Jones and Vaughn.  Police discovered a handgun in the front seat of that vehicle.  The driver, Bob Martin, 47, was taken into police custody for not possessing a valid firearms owner identification card.
